Kelvin Boston has been the executive producer and host of Moneywise with Kelvin Boston on PBS since 2000. Boston grew up in the public housing projects of South Wilmington, Delaware. After graduating from Lincoln University in 1978, Boston returned to Wilmington and organized the South Wilmington Housing Counseling Service, one of today’s largest counseling agencies in the state. Boston began his career as a financial planner with American Express Financial Advisors. In 1990, he started the nation’s first financial information television series for minority households, The Color of Money which went on to air in 22 million homes on the Knowledge Cable network before moving to PBS. The recipient of awarded the 2003 National Community Reinvestment Coalition’s national award for promoting economic justice and the 2005 “Communicator of the Year” from National Alliance of Market Developers, he lives in Baltimore.
