Todd McCarthy

Todd McCarthy is the longtime chief film critic of Variety. He is the author of the 1997 biography Howard Hawks: The Grey Fox of Hollywood that is widely acclaimed as one of the best accounts of a film director’s life. McCarthy wrote and co-directed the awrd-winning documentary film Visions of Light: The Art of Cinematography, and won an Emmy for writing PReston Sturges:The Rise and Fall of an American Genius.
